Della Rovere Room

The Della Rovere room allows for an elegant and refined stay, in all its varieties.

Our original 17th century staircase, recently renovated at the B&B Pomarancio, leads the way to the first floor and the master bedroom Della Rovere. With this name, our intention is to honor Urbino, the ancient dukedom that gave birth to one of the most rich and radiant eras in the history of our country: the Italian Renaissance. For those who love architecture, art and culture, only 20 km away, the historical center of Urbino is perfect for long walks, or a visit to the Palazzo Ducale (Ducal Palace) where one can admire the splendor of the court and the many exhibitions that follow one another at the Palace.
The Della Rovere room is spacious, refined and elegant. It has a cherry wood embellished door and is rich with architectural details brought to light during the recent renovations. In fact, an ancient beam was discovered in the wall, as well as a small nook behind the queen sized bed and its wrought iron headboard. The floors, in handmade cotto tiles, combine the rustic taste of historical homes in our area with the warmth of ancient, natural and recyclable materials.

A refined stay in a bed and breakfast near Urbino.

The recently renovated original dark wooden beams alternate with new beams in lighter wood, which enhance the room’s brightness and simplify its chromatic range, from white to beige, all the way to the brown in the details and antique furniture. In front of the bed, a comfortable built in wardrobe still has its original door in engraved cherry wood. The rooms at our B&B all have a view: two ample windows in the West overlook via Roma and the beautiful baroque bell tower of the church of San Michele. Inside the church, one must visit the beautiful painting by 17th century painter Nicolò Pomarancio, in honor of whom we chose to name our bed and breakfast. We appreciate the harmony between opposites, and we love to play: a wrought iron garden table from the 1940s dilutes the elegance of the space, making it more cheerful and informal. It is the perfect place for our guests to relax with a cup of select tea, accompanied by homemade pastries, a glass of fine local wine and snacks, which we prepare solely with local products: from homemade sourdough starter bread to ricotta cheese with honey from small local manufacturers, and savory finger food just prepared in our kitchen.
The retractable art déco record player in engraved wood functions as a nightstand, and the transistor radio still works today. Our embroidered linen curtains and Bellora linens on the bed combine comfort with the subtlety of refined objects. Notice the details and embroidery in the bathroom linens as well, which is also equipped with a hair dryer and organic soap. The room is cleaned on a daily basis. Each day, we renew our hospitality with a taste of seasonal fruits or tasty snacks in the mini bar or on the table.
